~ Meet the DJS ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reverend Bill M.
Comedy has always been a part of Bill's life, from a subscription to Mad Magazine (22 years and counting, as of 2007) to his ever-growing collection of comedy albums from which he draws most of the show's material. An internet user since '93, some of Bill's many other web projects include "The Lord of Coke and Hot Dogs" with Magister Matt G. Paradise, "Hellywood" (the first Satanic movie site), the Kevin Bacon-inspired "Black Sabbath Game", "Look Out: The Dio Humor Page", Bill's own personal home pages, and contributions to many other sites including two for his favorite band, The Residents.
When he's not working on his show of mirth, Bill M. is usually spending time with his two other "M" passions: music and mathematics. Although the bass guitar remains his main instrument, he enjoys collecting and composing on a number of musical instruments, including the mandolin, balalaika, kalimba, harmonica, melodica, wooden flute, and recorder. Though, unlike your stereotypical comedy or math fanatic, Bill ain't exactly ugly. Dubbed "The Luscious Bill M." by RFS co-founder Miss Honey Hellfire, he was also a feature-of-the-month on LongHairedMen.com. But hey, this is a DJ biography and not a singles ad, so stop reading and tune in!
Reverend Kevin I. Slaughter
Kevin I. Slaughter is a vulgarian and elitist, half son of the South, half child of Mother England. He owns the 3rd largest private collection of vintage Super 8mm porn on the East Coast, plus an extensive library of adult paperbacks. Other than smut, his bookshelves are littered with titles by authors with names such as: Ardrey, Batille, Buchanan, Burroughs (E.R.), Crisp, Dahl, Darwin, Dixon, Friedman, Fussell, Galton, Gilmore (J & P.H.), Goad, Goffman, Gresham, Hammett, Hecht, Hitchens, Hoffer, Home, Huysmans, LaVey, LeBon, Legman, London, Lovecraft, Ludovici, Malebranche, Mishima, Moynihan, Nietzsche, Parfrey, Petros, Pinker, Putnam, Rand, Reich, Rockwell, Rushton, Sante, Shermer, Sotos, Southern, Spengler, Spillane, Stirner, Thompson, Tully, Twain, Waters, and Willeford.
He admires the outsider genius, the architects of their own worlds--opinions be damned. He is uncomfortable with the false dichotomies, understands that however rational he tries to be, his consciousness is controlled in part by genetically borne biases and his understanding of the world is skewed by the poor construction of biology that nature has evolved. Either way, he still thinks he's right and you're probably wrong.
Ordained a priest in the Church of Satan, and a member of the Hard Case Crime Book of the Month Club.
Interests include outsider music, counterculture art, aesthetic iconoclasm & stratification. Artists most likely to hear: NON/Boyd Rice, Death in June, Blood Axis, Navicon Torture Technologies, Der Blutharsch, Genocide Organ, etc. Future shows will feature interviews with related artists.
Lord Dracul
A long time member of the Church of Satan, Dracul is intent on utilizing the format to put the needed spotlight on bands and artists in the genre that are relevant to the Satanist and to help spread the word about the work that those artists are doing. Realizing that those who populate Goth nights at clubs in their locales are also interested in music that existed on the fringes of both musical worlds, Dracul also features many bands that flirted with Goth themes and Industrial remixes. Old school goths and rivetheads, fear no, though, he will be delivering the goods when it comes to the classic groups of the genres as well, like Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim, and Specimen. So join him each week as he emerges from the crypt to serve as your guide through the darkness...the Velvet Darkness.
And drinking. Legend has it when asked about his prior experience when applying for this position he replied "Experience?!?! Shit I don't know what I'm doin, I'm flyin by the seat of my pants!" Evidently he got the job. Did we mention that Clint likes to drink?
Dave Ingram
Show: Lambert's Basement
Lambert's Basement on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/lambertsbasement
E-mail: Lapdog1@mac.com
Believe it or not, Dave Ingram is more often associated with Death Metal. He has been a member of various stalwarts of that genre such as BoltThrower, Benediction, Downlord and Strangler. It may come as a surprise to some that he hosts "Lambert's Basement" featuring another of his musical interests: Big Band, Swing and Jazz.
Dave's initial musical experience came at age 7 when he was introduced to the sounds of Black Sabbath and The Clash. It was a pivotal moment in his life, as he knew then where his path lay: Music. He first heard that 'Big Band sound' played in the soundtracks to many a Tom & Jerry cartoon and a little later his Father, Lawrence Albert Lambert Ingram (yes, the very same "Lambert") helped soften the Heavy-Metal-Head, and re-introduced him to Jazz.
His other on-going projects are 'Metal Breakfast Radio' (just added to the RFS lineup), a podcast show that gives his and his co-host's opinions on new & unsigned Metal bands, recording new songs with his 2-man project 'Doomcharge' (you can't keep a good - or bad - musician down) and living life to the fullest. Dave lives in Copenhagen, Denmark with his wife & son, and is currently attempting to teach himself how to play a flying-V ukulele. His neighbors love him.
Matt Ingram
Deep Six on MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/deepsixradio
E-mail: deepsix@radiofreesatan.com
Would you believe that Matt is the younger brother of RFS's Lambert's Basement host Dave? Oh yes, there was always music being played in the Ingram household, and it has most certainly been a huge influence! Matt is into almost all music types, as his interests are wide and diverse, listening to anything from Classical to Electronica through to Metal and all that genre's extremes.
He lives in Birmingham in the United Kingdom, which Matt says "has the most vibrant, eclectic and underrated scene in the UK". He's also play's Bass (and the Pint glass!) in the West Midlands-based band Million Empire, who have been likened in style and sound to 'Queens Of The Stone Age' and 'Muse'.
Tom Schulte
Tom Schulte is an avid, multi-genre music collector. After High School, participation in punk and metalcore bands led to Scruffy Tearaways and regional gigging. Tom chronicled his adventure through music and opinions in Detroit's Jam Rag. This column, Outsight, grew to other publications and turned into Outsight Communications, providing content for Internet and print media. Tom's broadcasting experience began with guesting on shows and then on to having a Thursday morning program on WPON-AM (Pontiac, MI). After sharing new music discoveries there for over a year, Tom became the substitute host for WDET-FM Detroit Public Radio.
Tom began an Internet Radio program in early 1998 with the home-produced Outsight Radio Hours. The show features new recordings touched on in the column. Each show features a live phone interview. Past guests from the eclectic program include Les McCann, Mortiis, and Billy Sheehan. Tom has been Internet active since acoustic modems and Freenet. He is an application developer building Internet solutions for manufacturers. As a person that spends his free time exploring new music and collecting vinyl, Tom sees Internet Radio as a perfect synthesis of career and extracurricular interests. Also, he would love to tell you about his reading list and chess.
